Cooking is one of the ways we care for each other.

I believe some of the most meaningful moments in our lives happen around food.

I’m Maggie Lukens, a professionally trained cook, educator, and mom. I trained in classical cuisine and worked in Michelin-starred restaurants in California and France, but my relationship with food has always extended far beyond the kitchen.

I have a deep love of the natural world and of understanding where our food comes from. Growing, gathering, cooking, eating with the seasons, and sharing food with other people all feel connected to me. My years working with young children and families in nature-based education only deepened that understanding.

I created Connective Cooking to bring these worlds together. Good food, the natural world, family, and the small rituals that create connection in our everyday lives.

This isn't about doing things perfectly. It's about paying attention. To what we're eating, where it came from, who we're sharing it with, and the opportunities we have every day to create a little more connection.
